Menehune Bowl Museum Quality Replica King's Platter Most Hawaiian bowls and platters were undecorated. However, a few carved dishes have been preserved showing human figures holding a platter or bowl. The platter shows King Kahahana and his wife Kekaupoi, of Oahu, supporting the meat platter of the conqueror, Kahekili, King of Maui. Kahekili, tradition says, not only taunted them by causing them in effigy to support his meat dish, but he added insult by dipping into their mouths for his condiments. 12" in length $85.00 |
